SUMMER, FALL & WINTER “SOAR” Bird Walks

SOAR (“Studying Ornithology Around the Region”) is back—starting January 2.

IMPORTANT: The location for Saturday, January 2 is Antietam Meadow Park.

DIRECTIONS: Click here to find directions for the correct entrance via Scott Lane (off Country Club Road). 

SOAR walkers are encouraged to wear boots for this excursion.

NOTE: Locations for SOAR bird walks will now vary. The walks will occur at different natural areas throughout the local region, on the first and third Saturday of each month.

Please print, sign and bring the Guidelines Waiver form along with you to the walk.

After a hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic, birding enthusiasts Sharon and Larry Williams of Waynesboro will lead the walks along the hiking trails at varying locations throughout the summer, fall and winter.

Participants should wear comfortable walking shoes and may bring identification books and binoculars. Free and open to the public.

Please Note: 2020 Bird Walks resume in compliance with guidelines under the GREEN Phase of the Covid reopening plan, including:
• Groups no larger than 12
• Participants will sign in & complete a waiver/contact form (available HERE)
• Social distancing must be practiced
• Face masks are mandatory at all times, even when appropriately distanced, until further notice.
