SPRING, SUMMER, FALL & WINTER “SOAR” Bird Walks

SOAR (“Studying Ornithology Around the Region”) resumed in 2021.

IMPORTANT: Locations for the SOAR bird walks vary. Check back for our monthly schedule soon.

The March 20 SOAR walk is at Caledonia State Park – Meet at Park Office.

First and third Saturdays ONLY

Please print, sign and bring the Guidelines Waiver form along with you to the walk.

After a hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic, First and third Saturday spring, summer, fall and winter bird walks resumed on July 4, 2020! Birding enthusiasts Sharon and Larry Williams of Waynesboro lead the walks along the hiking trails at varying locations throughout the area.

Participants should wear comfortable walking shoes and may bring identification books and binoculars. Free and open to the public.

Please Note: 2021 Bird Walks have resumed in compliance with Covid-19 guidelines, including:
• Groups no larger than 12
• Participants will sign in & complete a waiver/contact form (available HERE)
• Social distancing must be practiced
• Face masks are mandatory at all times, even when appropriately distanced, until further notice.
